BJ

Hi, I'm BJ. My name is actually Blackjack, but there is another black cat living in the same room as me whose name is Blackjack. Can you believe that? What are the odds of that? He was here before me, so they shortened my name to BJ. You can tell me apart from the other Blackjack, because I have grey specks on my back. These are like gorgeous shooting stars! You know, shooting starts are lucky, so maybe I can be your lucky charm!

I was originally adopted in Montana. My owner went to assisted living, and his daughter took me in. She had another cat, and when she found out I tested positive for FIV, she didn't want me anymore. FIV is transmittable to cats via penetrating bites, so we likely would have been fine together. But she got nervous about it and brought me to the MaxFund to find a new home. FIV does mean that I should not live with a smoker. But FIV is not transmittable to humans or dogs. I can live a long and healthy life with FIV. I just have to be an inside cat, which is safer for me anyway, even if I didn't have FIV.

According to my owner's daughter, I am calm and really like people. The folks at the MaxFund have noticed that too. I am always first to greet you when you enter the room. I love petting too. I am quite the lover actually. I am the biggest cat in the room, but I am also the most gentle. Some people here call me a gentle giant. One volunteer here calls me a "wizard's cat," because she says I am big and wise!

My owner's daughter also said that I like tuna. Well...I am a cat. We love tuna! Do you have any tuna at your house? She also said I get along with cats, dogs, kids (small and large) and men. Boy, sounds like I'm the perfect cat, huh? I hope you will think so and take me home today! I am a wonderful boy who will give you lots of love and be a fantastic member of your family!
